991. Jamie Radford - You're So Warm

So warm. Made of surprises. Sounds like someone's record of the year, which it was; sounds like pow (fwd rhythm) on animal crossing. I bought the album. (41)

990. ??? - Suzy Wong Gone Wrong

Haha no-one knows who it's by! Sample of the year probably. A lounge record! Like, done right. (177)

989. Black moth Super Rainbow - Lollopopsichord

Ian Johnson music. Two trombones and a crossbow. (408)

988. Cat Power - The Party

The better one. Does that Cat Power thing, y'know? That funny pragmatism; face of Channel and all that. The South this summer - I know I'll find the strength to have real adventures, the best, the truest I've had, but right now, scared, I'm putting off that searching like homework. I'm trying to be honest. (121)

987. Kleerup ft. Robyn - With Every Heartbeat

'Negotiate With Love' - I could write about it for pages and be truthful, condense it down to two paragraphs the way always happens; it'd feel like untying my belly button. This isn't that record, but it makes me think about it, for better or worse or worse. The words in the chorus - "and" "it" "hurts" "with" "every" "heartbeat" work great together, but every aside they're on their own some of the best and strongest words in english, so that's good. (94)

986. Los Campesinos! - You! Me! Dancing!

All shine. I'm scared of the North, a bit, but dance has a short 'a' for sure, the girl's voice is too soft but that might be needed: the monologue at the end fails like Dexy's, which is to say it works. "Hymns, yeah!" (88)

985. O'Death - Allie Mae Reynolds

I'm 23 now. (235)

984. Sleeping States - NYC

I think they're my age? Mid-twenties, I hope so. How old was Stevie when I met him first? Older than this, I think, but we could have liked this. (366)

983. Jad and David Fair - Four Leaf Clover

Story song, sorry song. I miss text adventures, which this makes me think of. (400)

982. Scratchy - Shangooli (Wiley remix)

Britain, the future. I love the future, its colours. The 60's. (152)

981. SKY LARKIN - Somersault

Can't find it, really tried. (454)

980. Cat Power - Love & Communication

Part of what's amazing about her - the voice is wood, solid and safe, to build treehouses no-one can reach but you and yr loved ones. I don't know if she can hear it. Cat power's not about answers to questions like that. (92)

979. Morvern Cellar / Hazey Jane - Lover's Stone

I heard a second of this and knew the band name. Cold stone, english village frailty. Too close to the bone, for me. (598)

978. Clashing Egos - Aminjig nebere (I trust you) (Joakim's Afrobeat remix)

Better than what I remembered, which wasn't anything really. Lounge! (301)

977. Voxtrot - The Start Of Something

I'm in my mid-twenties. I don't meant that with horror! I just mean - the stories I could tell about this record, they don't matter to me anymore. Do you have any coffee? (655)

976. Madeleine Peyroux - Between The Bars

Diamanda Galas, but covering herself, with affection. (244)

975-963. Crazy Fucking Landlord's Son - Moroccan Cruise

100% pure, 100% dymanimite, LA marijuana haze. I can't wait to see the West. (10)

1000. Sufjan Stevens - Sister Winter

So uh otq is about trying to live up to oss, right? I think Oss tells the truth.

i. I've never heard Sufjan Stevens, before.
ii. I love this.

It's a winter record, you know? There's a sort of text adventure you can tell was written when its author went home to stay with parents for Christmas, written staying up late in a house with nothing else to do, frost brittle but gentled by a place with rich foods, where nothing much changes: this is like that. It's not really for understanding, I don't think. (68)

999. Fergie Vs Bloc Party - Blocalicious

Haha okay. 'Fergielicious' and 'My Love' have the most amazing synth lines right from the start, I can't articulate the connection without cod-[info]cisism: halfway in the sky, an acid rain falling mostly up.

This and 'Lisa's Got Hives' get better as they go along, I think that's something guitar songs do. "Working on my fitness" gets thrown away, the gap gets filled. This is exactly as good as 'Fergielicious'. (134)

998. Magnolia Electric Co. - Hard To Love A Man Like You

This is 'Papa Was A Rodeo' except boring. (910)

997. Worm Is Green - The Robot Has Got The Blues

It's about a robot! With the blues. The noise is amazing, a sort of fractured dialtone, so great. Everything else is lounge and pretty needless? It's okay! (403)

996. Roosevelt - American Drunk

Competent! I would like this if it was DC-area hardcore instead, I think. Unless they're from Boston. (880)

995. Twilight Singers - The Lure Would Prove Too Much

Crackly answerphone voice! I really liked the answerphone voice on the Laptop record, this has the same one, it still works. I am not excited by this pleasant record. (590)

994. Eberg - Inside Your Head

Out Hud put through a 'fluxblog' filter on soundforge. (901)

993. Jamie Lidell - When I Come back Around (Freeform Remix)

This is really disappointing! I sort of imagine that Thriller sounds like this, presumably I know what 'Thriller' actually sounds like but I've forgotten. ALSO SOUNDS LIKE: Sunshine by Gareth Gates. (740)

992. Ojos de Brujo - Feedback (Nina Sawhney remix)

I am not excited by this pleasant record :( (670)
